Jacob Cohen: The Perfect Jeans For Winter

Jacob Cohen: The Perfect Jeans For Winter

Trends come and go but jeans, originally worn by factory workers in the 1940s, remain the staple item in fashion today.

Here at Stephen Muldoon Bespoke, our main denim brand is Jacob Cohen. For those that don’t know about Jacob Cohen, they are an Italian company based in Veneto, specialising in crafting handmade jeans using some of the finest denim in the world.

The fabric:

Jacob Cohen tend to use super soft and stretchy Kurabo denim sourced from Japan. The stretchy quality of the fabric works extremely well especially with the narrower styles to provide a clean tailored look. Jacob Cohen jeans are a delight to wear and a real denim cognisor’s piece. Kurabo denim is fantastic for the winter, creating a warm and comfortable feel.

One thing that actually sets Jacob Cohen apart from other brands is the fact that they have an environmentally friendly production process, something they take very seriously during the making of their jeans. This also includes not using any chemicals during the dying and washing process of the jeans. During the unique washing process, Greek pumice stone is used to create beautiful rich washes that stand out from the rest.

The Fit:

Trends have changed over the years, with more men opting for slim and skinny fit jeans to create a sharper and cleaner look. Wide leg and boot cut jeans have been filtered out over the last decade. A trend that has also emerged is to have your jeans shorter in length or in the summer cropped. This contributes to the cleaner look as there is no crumpling or gathering of the fabric at the bottom of the jean. Jacob Cohen have catered for this, creating the J622 slim fit which is our best seller and the J969 skinny fit which I personally think looks best.

The Style:

The most practical jean for winter would be a clean indigo dye jean. This jean would work for all occasions, whether that’s going out for a stroll in the day or wearing with a blazer in the evening.

Black is also very in this season with many people opting for the very slick James Bond Spectre look. This jean works extremely well for smart casual occasions, looking sharp with a smart pair of shoes and a shirt.

A beautiful clean and rich blue dye looks stunning on as well and because its so clean it looks fantastic with a blazer, shirt and a pair of brogues.

Distressed clothing is in and you may opt for a jean with a bleaching effect for casual wear. This jean can also be dressed up if worn correctly but with a nice sweater and a pair of cool trainers, this could make the outfit.

With so many people chosing to wear jeans today its understandable that some people may think, ‘what is so special about these jeans?’ If you wanted to set yourself apart from other jean wearers, Jacob Cohen offer some beautiful pieces that are more outside the box. Perhaps a hybrid could be the one for you with a pair of jeans in a chino design. Here you get the warmth and comfort of the denim for the winter weather but paired with the formality and sharpness of a pair of chinos.

Jacob Cohen also offer a bird’s eye weave jean, which up close incorporates a rich indigo dye with a hint of turquoise; simply stunning!

For the true die hard Jacob Cohen fan that wants exclusivity, the 9 karat solid gold logoed jeans are the ones for you. One of only 36 pairs in the U.K, this is a jean for the ages!
